The Supreme Court Is Helping the Rich Take Over America

The richest people in America have spent decades working to take control of the government. Now they’ve almost fully succeeded and the Supreme Court is one of their biggest weapons.

In 2016, President Obama nominated Merrick Garland to the Court. But millionaire Mitch McConnell refused to even hold a vote. Then in 2020, just days before the election, he rushed to confirm Amy Coney Barrett. It was never about rules or fairness. It was about stacking the Court to serve the rich.

Since then, the Court has made one decision after another that helps billionaires and corporations. They’ve weakened unions, allowed secret money in politics, and taken away basic rights. These rulings don’t reflect what most Americans want. They reflect what the ultra-wealthy paid for.

At the same time, Republicans keep pushing for more tax cuts for the rich. They say the money will “trickle down,” but that’s been a lie for over 40 years. The rich keep getting richer while working people fall behind. Now they want to cut Social Security and Medicare to pay for it even if it means seniors suffer.

During COVID, they said the quiet part out loud. Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick said grandparents should be willing to die for the economy. Not for public health. Not for family. For business profits.

This is what an oligarchy looks like. A small group of rich elites control the system while the rest of us are expected to stay quiet and take the hit. They’ve rigged the courts, the laws, and the economy to serve themselves no matter who it hurts.

But it doesn’t have to stay this way. Most Americans want fairness and a government that works for everyone, not just billionaires. If we want to stop this takeover, we have to speak up, show up, and fight back — before it’s too late.
